# Aroldis Chapman reaches 20 saves for the first time since 2021

Cuban closer Aroldis Chapman continues consolidating his legacy as one of the best closers in the history of the Major Leagues, and this Saturday he reached the mark of 20 saves in the 2025 season, something he hadn't achieved since 2021.


Chapman, 37 years old, notched the save in his Boston Red Sox team's victory over the Houston Astros while maintaining an impressive 1.24 ERA, according to journalist Francys Romero on the social network Facebook.


With this performance, he now totals 355 career saves in MLB, placing him just three saves away from Troy Percival (358), who holds 13th place on the all-time saves leaders list.


Since his debut in 2010, the Cuban has been synonymous with velocity, intimidation, and dominance on the mound. Despite some ups and downs in previous seasons, his current performance puts him back among the most consistent closers in the league.


At this pace, Chapman could climb even higher positions in the all-time saves standings, and continue building his path toward a possible Hall of Fame candidacy.
